A group of doctors have launched a crowdfunder to bring legal action against the UK’s General Medical Council for its failure to “investigate a regulated doctor for repeatedly making statements about COVID-19 vaccines that are factually inaccurate, misleading and potentially harmful.”

Aseem Malhotra

The doctor in question is cardiologist Aseem Malhotra. For those that aren’t aware of Malhotra he is closely connected to Andrew Bridgen MP’s descent into the world of conspiracy theories culminating in him joining the fringe Reclaim Party after the Conservative Party jettisoned him.

Malhotra has become a leading figure of a wider movement of conspiracy theorists who are invoking a narrative of putting politicians, scientific advisers and healthcare workers on trail for their roles in the vaccine roll out.

Anti-vaxxers Party and Plot the Path to Nuremberg 2.0

History is written by the victors, or more accurately, history is rewritten by the victors. QAnon John's Antivax Party John Mappin is the founder of Turning Point UK, the culture war sister organisation Turning Point USA founded by Council for National Policy member Charlie Kirk.

The doctors behind the letter have had to remain due to the abuse and in one case death threats that they have received from anti-vaxxers.

An example of what Malhotra’s associates are currently sharing on social media.

As noted by others already, this isn’t a new statement.

The World Council for Health’s Better Way Conference demonstrates how there’s a convergence of conspiracy theories into an incoherent but angry narrative.

Details in the link below

The GMC has responded to previous complaints regarding Malhotra by acknowledging he is involved in disinformation but that there wasn’t evidence he was influencing opinion. Malhotra is currently on tour in Australia, continuing to trade off his credentials to an international audience due to the GMC’s lack of action, before this he was in US, Sweden and South Africa. Details below.

even if they lose , its worth raising again, and again and again, there are doctors all over the world spreading lies and misinformation for their own gain- you may go down, but go down fighting. These 'doctors' have youtube channels, huge following on social media etc. They win even when they lose- Andrew Wakefield lives in a mansion in the US with a supermodel, apparently- and look at the thousands of dead children hes responsible for! But they are a shamed on our profession.
