Tip Of The Iceberg: The Dark Money Funding The Anti-Gender Network

2021 Report revealed a $700million network funding religious extremism to roll back reproductive and sexuality rights

Tip Of The Iceberg (TOTI), published in 2021 by the European Parliamentary Forum for Sexual and Reproductive Rights, assembled financial data between 2009 to 2018 to detail how more than $707,000,000 was funnelled into a network of over 50 anti-gender actors operating in Europe with the intention of rolling back human rights in sexuality and reproduction under the guise of supporting the traditional family.

The report identifies thirteen key individuals and tracks funding from the US radical right, Russia and from within Europe, and explains how “laundromats” are used to support activist groups and hard-right/far-right political parties to promote a common policy agenda aimed at removing access to abortion and contraception, ending IVF and surrogacy, reinforcing the traditional family, removing rights from the LGBT+ community, and also opposing immigration.

TOTI shows how considerable sums were spent to set up the foundations of these prongs of the culture wars rooted in an international Christian Nationalism movement. The detailed report is 108 pages in length but provides informative summaries, tables and flow charts
